How to set up a service-area business on Google
If you travel to your customers (cleaning, roofing, plumbing, landscaping and more), Google lets you hide your street address and show the areas you serve instead.
What is a service-area business?
A service-area business serves customers at their location instead of at a storefront. Google shows the areas you serve rather than a street address, and many owners hide a home address this way.
Steps
- Open your Google Business Profile at business.google.com.
- Choose Edit profile, then Business location.
- Turn off showing your address to customers if you do not serve people at it.
- Under Service areas, add the cities or counties you cover.
- Choose a primary category and add services, hours and photos.
Listing here
Who's In My City lists service-area businesses too. Search for your business name and town on the Get listed page. Your page shows "Serves [town]" instead of a street address.
How it works
- Open your Google Business Profile. Go to business.google.com.
- Hide your address. Edit business location and stop showing it to customers.
- Add your service areas. Cities or counties you cover.
- Add services and photos. Complete the profile.
